DIY Sex Toys

toying with the idea of accessorized sex

Bringing accessories into the bedroom can be intimidating and tricky to bring up with a new partner when you’re both learning what the other likes. These household objects won’t force you both to go shopping at kinkster stores on a third date, or send them running for the hills when you whip them out.

Pilates bands + Chair = seated light bondage

Get your partner to sit in a chair with their legs shoulder-width apart. Restraining their hands lets you take total control of their pleasure! With one band, get their wrists crossed one over the other and wrap the band around and between to ensure comfortable and complete restraint. With two, loop a halfway folded band around each wrist, rather than just tying a potentially circulation-cutting knot. The two loose ends can be fastened to the chair legs below. Now you’re ready to make that lap your stage!

Pilates bands are thick and soft enough not to strain wrists, ankles, or elbows. Exceptionally long ties or curtain stays that are no less than 4 feet long could do the trick if you have those around.

Lube up, buttercup!

A while ago, Khloe Kardashian said she uses vitamin E cream on her vagina to “strengthen the tissue” which experts have since claimed is… not a thing. We’ve got some better ideas of how to bring household ingredients together for incredible sensations! Even the most vanilla lover can get into the use of lube to speed up the process of getting to the main event. Lube is also an absolute must for unlocking the backdoor!

For water based lubricant, combined hot water with three teaspoons of corn flour, err on the side of more water if the mixture get gluey.

Oil based lubes are wonderful for infusing a little aromatherapy into your love making, and can be used for great mutual massage sessions all over your body. Get out your aloe vera gel for something more fun than treating sunburns, and mix it with an equal measure of coconut oil. Adding a few drops of lavender oil will make the whole experience more flavorful and romantic, while a few drops of peppermint essential oil can actually heighten sensitivity with a refreshing tingly sensation!

Ice ice, baby

Ice cubes are tried and true sexy home economics for good reason. Try incorporating this element into the bedroom after a long work out, or a day at the spa, while more muscles are rosy with plenty of blood flow. Or just save this one for a scorching hot day, bringing an ice tray out with you for an afternoon in the sun, or when your AC breaks down.

Applying fresh ice to nipples or genital areas is not advised, at least not before the ice has yet to melt down to a slippery round object. The jagged edges of frozen water can hurt and even cut sensitive regions. Going straight for those erogenous zones before the body has had time to acclimate to the moving source of extreme temperature just won’t be pleasurable.

Tracing the contours of your partner’s body with ice will awaken them to their body’s sensitivity in places where manual caresses and kisses just feel duller. This of the body parts that are more utilitarian or exposed to the elements like all sides of the shoulders, hips, or the soft flesh of the inner arm. Because these parts are often in abrasive contact with the seams and waistbands of clothes can become dulled to softer friction. Ice is a perfectly simple way to really wake those parts up to their natural sensitivity, and evoke new exciting sources of pleasure.
